In a statement, UNIFIL spokesman Andrea Tenenti emphasized that “This afternoon, UNIFIL peacekeepers detected explosions near the town of Al-Bustan in southwestern Lebanon.”

Major General Aroldo Lazaro, the head of the UNIFIL Mission, is in touch with the parties involved and urging them to exercise the utmost restraint and use UNIFIL’s liaison and coordination mechanisms to prevent further escalation and loss of life, the statement continued.
