Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, stated on Friday that Russian forces had raped women in Ukrainian cities.
Kuleba provided no proof to back up his assertion. The claim could not be independently verified by Reuters.
“When bombs fall on your cities, when soldiers rape women in occupied cities – and unfortunately, we have numerous cases of Russian soldiers raping women in Ukrainian cities – it’s difficult, of course, to speak about the efficiency of international law,” Kuleba said at a Chatham House event in London.
“But this is the only tool of civilization that is available to us to make sure that eventually all those who made this war possible will be brought to justice,” said Kuleba, who was speaking in English.
