The French Press Agency (AFP) reported on Sunday that, according to a source closely associated with Hamas, the Palestinian movement has given its affirmation to prolong the ongoing truce period “from two to four days.”
The source indicated that Hamas informed intermediaries of the resistance factions’ agreement to extend the current truce for a period ranging from two to four days.
The source stated, “We expect the resistance to secure the release of between 20 to 40 captives.”
The humanitarian truce agreement in Gaza came into effect on Friday morning, encompassing the release of 50 captives, including women and children, held in Gaza, in exchange for the release of 150 Palestinian detainees, including women and children, from the occupation’s prisons.
