Five Syrian soldiers were killed and 20 were injured in a rocket strike by ISIS militants on a military transport vehicle in Syria’s east on Sunday at 7 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), according to Syrian official media on Monday.
ISIS, the hardline organization that declared a caliphate spanning portions of Syria and Iraq in 2014, has lost control of all land it formerly controlled in 2019.
Nonetheless, the organization maintains a low-level insurgency in both nations.
