As its assault against Hamas continues, Israeli forces stated on Tuesday that they were fighting on the ground in the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis.
In an army release, Southern Command chief Major General Yaron Finkelman was cited as saying, “We are in the heart of Jabalia, in the heart of Shejaiya (in northern Gaza), and now also in the heart of Khan Yunis,” characterizing “the most intense day since the beginning of the ground operation.”
