Following a phone call between the two leaders, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi will meet the new German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, in the coming days, according to a government statement.
“Prime Minister Draghi congratulated Chancellor Scholz on the beginning of his tenure,” according to the statement.
