Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi announced on Tuesday that Japan is due to send 1 million coronavirus vaccine doses to Vietnam.
Motegi told reporters that the shipment of AstraZeneca PLC vaccines produced in Japan are slated to arrive in Vietnam on Wednesday.
He added that his country is considering more vaccine donations to Vietnam and Taiwan, and it plans to send jabs to Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines early next month.
Taiwan received its first shipment of AstraZeneca doses earlier this month.
