Japan welcomes establishment of new cabinet in Lebanon

In a statement by Press Secretary, YOSHIDA Tomoyuki, the Government of Japan welcomed the formation of a new cabinet headed by Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on September 10th.

The Japanese government has lauded the fact that all relevant parties in Lebanon have managed to form the lengthily awaited cabinet through dialogue and consultation.

“The Government of Japan believes that stability in Lebanon is indispensable to the stability of the Middle East. From this perspective, the Government of Japan hopes that the new cabinet will achieve political stability in Lebanon, and will garner concrete results in reforms in economic, judicial, and other fields to the benefit of Lebanese people. The Government of Japan, together with the international community, will continue to support the efforts of the Lebanese government to this end,” the statement added.
