French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed on Friday that he wants to “move much faster” in expanding the European Union, noting that discussions among member states have begun with no decision made at this stage.

Macron told reporters following the informal European summit in Granada, “We are convinced that we need to move much faster in this matter,” adding that he is “very committed to setting an ambitious and precise goal.”
