Malaysia PM says to seek bi-partisan support for his premiership

In response to calls for him to quit, Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said on Friday that he would seek backing from political groups outside the ruling coalition in a confidence resolution in parliament.

A confidence vote, Muhyiddin added, would allow the government to continue working until an election was held, and that no member of parliament could show they had a majority of votes to allow the king to name them prime minister.
