Women and girls in Gaza are facing an unprecedented level of violence, rendering the besieged region one of the most perilous places for females globally, as reported by the international NGO ActionAid. The aid group highlighted that over three women lose their lives every hour in Gaza, emphasizing the critical situation in a statement to Al Arabiya English.
ActionAid pointed out that women and girls in Gaza are experiencing alarming rates of injury and death, with their fundamental rights to food, water, and healthcare routinely denied. The ongoing violence has subjected them to severe psychological strain and trauma after two months of living in constant fear.
Riham Jafari, Coordinator of Advocacy and Communication for ActionAid Palestine, stated, “Gaza is currently the most dangerous place in the world for women and girls. The senseless killings of women and girls in this violence are escalating hourly, while they face a daily struggle to meet their most basic needs.”
Doctors in the territory informed the organization that at least two mothers lose their lives every 60 minutes, with seven women falling victim to violence every two hours in the besieged enclave.
