According to state news agency WAM, Abu Dhabi’s ruler issued a new law on Sunday governing personal status matters for non-Muslims in the emirate, which includes an article on civil marriage.

The decree issued by UAE President Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahayan aims to “enhance the emirate’s position and global competitiveness as one of the most attractive destinations for talent and skills,” according to WAM.
