Northern Irish police arrest two more over killing of journalist Lyra McKee

Two additional individuals were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the 2019 assassination of journalist Lyra McKee in Londonderry, which sparked outrage in the British-run province.

Officers investigating McKee’s murder detained the males, aged 24 and 29, under the Terrorism Act, according to police.

The New IRA, one of a tiny number of organizations hostile to the 1998 peace treaty that ended three decades of conflict between opponents and supporters of British rule, said one of its members shot and killed the 29-year-old reporter while watching a brawl.

Three men have already been charged with murder, two of whom were charged last week, and two more with rioting and related offenses.
