Official UAE 50th National Day celebration to take place, be livestreamed in Hatta

The UAE’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations Committee has announced that the official ceremony commemorating the 50th UAE National Day will take place on December 2 in Dubai’s Hatta.

People in the UAE will be able to watch the show live on the UAE National Day official website and on all local TV channels on December 2 at 5.30pm.

According to state news agency WAM, the spectacular theatrical show will take viewers on a journey through the land’s history and will be open to the public from December 4 to 12.

Hatta has seen several development projects in recent years, including six new ones this year.

Earlier this month, Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, unveiled a comprehensive development plan for Hatta, which includes the construction of a beach and a new lake, as well as transportation systems for the mountain slopes, including a funicular and the Emirates’ longest mountain walk.

The projects were unveiled as part of the Hatta Master Development Plan, which spans a 20-year period.

The 3000-year-old town was once a trading route and a crossing for caravans and travelers, connecting people from all over the world. Hatta represents a piece of the UAE’s rich history and the story of its people, making it an ideal setting for a show set against a captivating natural backdrop.

“The Official 50th UAE National Day celebration will feature a spectacular show highlighting the deep connections between people, nature, and technology,” said Shaikha al-Ketbi, Head of Creative Strategy for the Year of the 50th.

“Staged in Hatta Dam and surrounded by the Hajar mountains, the floating theatrical experience will take viewers on a journey through the land’s history leading up to the union’s formation and over the next 50 years.””

“The show will also shed light on today’s achievements and provide a unique glimpse into the promising future that awaits everyone who calls the UAE home through unparalleled creative and artistic storytelling.”

Celebrations of the UAE National Day began earlier this month, 50 days before the UAE National Day, to commemorate the country’s Golden Jubilee. The official 50th National Day celebration will begin on December 2nd and will last until December 12th.
