The European Union needs a new approach for the Ukraine conflict since sanctions on Moscow have failed, according to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Saturday.

“A new approach is required that focuses on peace discussions and developing a good peace proposal…rather than winning the war,” Orban said during a speech in Romania.

Orban, who was re-elected for a fourth term in April, underlined that Hungary, a NATO member, will stay out of the conflict in neighboring Ukraine.
