The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that 100 aid trucks had entered the northern areas of the Gaza Strip.
PRCS said “100 aid trucks were brought into Gaza City and the northern part (of the Strip) by the Palestine Red Crescent today containing food, water, baby milk and blankets.”
It said that “for the first time, 50 Egyptian aid trucks arrived through the Rafah crossing and headed directly towards Gaza City and the northern side through the (Israeli) barrier that separates the north of the Strip from its south.”
Earlier on Sunday, the PRCS announced that it had sent another aid convoy “consisting of 50 trucks from Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip, towards Gaza City and its north, loaded with relief and food supplies, drinking water, medicines and emergency supplies.”
A four-day humanitarian pause mediated by Qatar, Egypt and the US went into effect on Friday, temporarily halting Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip.
Israel launched a massive military campaign in the Gaza Strip following an Oct. 7 cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas.
It has since killed at least 14,854 Palestinians, including 6,150 children and more than 4,000 women, according to health authorities in the enclave. The official Israeli death toll stands at 1,200.
