Riyadh to Host Global Entrepreneurship Congress 2022

Saudi Arabia will host the Global Entrepreneurship Congress, under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense.

The three-day event, which is organized by the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha’at), in collaboration with the Global Entrepreneurship Network, will be held in the capital Riyadh at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel on March 27.

According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), the Kingdom has recently outperformed 45 countries in the indicators of availability of good opportunities to start a business, ease of starting a business, entrepreneurs’ response to the pandemic and government response to the pandemic.

Under the theme, “Reboot, Rethink, Regenerate,” the GEC will be one of the first live global gatherings of investors, policymakers and community leaders from 180 different countries since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Participants will discuss economic challenges facing the global entrepreneurial environment, exchange experiences, seize investment opportunities and tackle the lessons learned from the pandemic.

More than 150 people will speak at the event, including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and Netflix co-founder Marc Randolph, as well as various innovation and entrepreneurship specialists in over 100 discussion panels.

The congress, which aims to establish a sustainable and resilient unified global entrepreneurial environment, will also include an accompanying exhibition, workshops and innovation sections.

It will provide policymakers with a key opportunity to listen to entrepreneurs and understand the challenges of doing business in the post-pandemic world.
