On Monday evening, a rocket strike targeted the Black Sea port city of Odesa in southern Ukraine, killing and injuring many people, according to the local governor, Maksym Marchenko, who posted on the Telgram messaging app.
There were no other details available at the time.
Separately, the southern military command was cited by Ukraine’s official television Suspilne as reporting that the strike had damaged a religious building.
