Russia reported 8,329 new coronavirus infections on Saturday, including 2,765 in Moscow, bringing the official national tally since the pandemic began to 4,871,843.

The government COVID-19 task force noted that 370 people had died of COVID-linked causes over the past 24 hours, bringing the national death toll to 112,992.

The federal statistics agency has kept a separate count and stated that Russia recorded nearly 250,000 fatalities related to the coronavirus between April 2020 and March 2021.
