Saudi Arabia arranges evacuation of Saudis, friendly country nationals from Sudan

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared on Saturday that plans have begun to evacuate Saudi citizens as well as numerous other nationals of friendly nations out of Sudan and into the Kingdom.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, according to a statement from the Ministry, have ordered the action.

Sporadic shelling rang out late on Friday in Sudan’s capital even though warring factions announced a truce.

The United Nations, US, UK, Japan, Switzerland, South Korea, Sweden and Spain have said they were making preparations or attempting to remove their personnel after almost a week of violence.
