The Saudi Foreign Ministry announced early on Thursday that Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have reiterated their joint ownership of natural resources in the al-Durra gas field in the Gulf.

The two nations claimed in a statement that they had the complete sovereign right to utilize the region’s resources.

The Kingdom and Kuwait renewed their calls on Iran to engage in negotiations concerning the eastern border of the maritime Divided Area, with Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to be represented as one negotiating party, while Iran represents the other party.

The Ministry indicated that the negotiations should be conducted in accordance with international law and the principles of good neighborliness.
