According to the Saudi Ministry of Defense, all of the soldiers on board died when one of the country’s fighter jets crashed on Thursday as it was conducting a training exercise.
The mishap involving an F-15 fighter jet occurred during a regular training flight at the King Abdulaziz Air Base in Dhahran, according to ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Turki al-Maliki.
To ascertain what caused the crash, an investigation has been launched.
A similar tragedy occurred in July when all of the crew members on board a Saudi F-15 died after it crashed in Khamis Mushait while on a training flight.
A mechanical issue caused another F-15 to crash in November of last year at the King Abdulaziz Air Base training area, but the two officers inside managed to live by using their ejector seats.
