Scotland confirms first case of monkeypox

Scotland verified its first case of monkeypox on Monday, according to Public Health Scotland, who said that the victim was getting treatment while their connections were being tracked down.

“We are investigating the source of this virus with NHS Boards (National Health Service) and broader partners in Scotland and the UK.” “Close contacts of the case are being identified and given health information and advice,” said Nick Phin, Director of Public Health Science at Public Health Scotland.
