Senior officials from key Western nations warned on Friday that international financial help for Sudan, including debt relief, can only come after the installation of a viable civilian administration.
Without it, Sudan might lose billions of dollars in World Bank development assistance, officials from France, Germany, Norway, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union stated in a joint statement during a visit to Khartoum.
Sudan’s IMF program, as well as the $19 billion in debt reduction linked with it, would be jeopardized, they added.
