According to Tolo News, a suspected suicide blast in northeastern Afghanistan on Tuesday resulted in the deaths of at least two individuals, one of whom was a senior Taliban official.
Mawlawi Nisar Ahmad Ahmadi, deputy governor of the Badakhshan province, was among those targeted in the city of Faizabad, the provincial capital, according to Moazuddin Ahmadi, an official in the information department.
Six others were also wounded in the blast.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
