According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), two earthquakes of almost magnitude 6 rocked Kepulauan Batu, Indonesia, early Sunday morning.

The first earthquake, measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale, struck Kepulauan Batu early Sunday, followed by another 5.8 on the Richter scale mere hours later.

The first earthquake occurred at a depth of 43 km (26.72 miles), while the second occurred at a depth of 40 km (24.85 miles), according to EMSC.
