President Vladimir Putin’s decision to put Russia’s deterrent forces – including nuclear weapons – on high alert is an unacceptable escalation, according to US Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

“It suggests that President Putin is continuing to escalate this conflict in an intolerable manner, and we must continue to exert maximum pressure on him,”

In an appearance with CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Thomas-Greenfield stated.
