The United Arab Emirates will suspend the entry of travelers coming from Vietnam starting June 5, as part of measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus, the state-news agency WAM reported on Thursday.
The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention announced Thursday that it conducted 230,728 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.
In a statement, the Ministry announced 1,989 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 576,947.
According to the Ministry, the infected individuals are in a stable condition and receiving the necessary care. The Ministry also announced three deaths due to COVID-19 complications, bringing the total number of fatalities in the country to 1,689.
