The president of the United Arab Emirates’ diplomatic advisor stated on Saturday that the recent violence in Gaza demonstrates the failure of Israel’s containment strategy and that the US must work for a swift resolution and fresh approach to avoid being viewed as ineffectual by the region.

“I don’t think the U.S role here will be seen as effective if this crisis continues, especially the humanitarian side, and if this crisis brings us back full circle to the old containment policy of pre-October 7,” Anwar Gargash said at an Abu Dhabi policy conference.
