According to Junior Minister Nadine Dorries, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will hold a press conference later on Monday to discuss how the country will move forward from the COVID-19 lockdown.

“The roadmap appears to be on track,” Dorries told Sky News. “Later this afternoon, the prime minister will make an announcement that will detail how and when we will activate.”

The United Kingdom is slowly emerging from a months-long lockdown placed in January to combat a deadly second wave of the virus. On Friday, the government announced plans to gradually reopen international travel, with indoor hospitality scheduled to resume on May 17.

However, since strains of the coronavirus have been circulating, Dorries, the minister for mental health, said the government needed to be vigilant that society did not reopen too easily.
