Ukraine sets domestic record for daily COVID-19 vaccinations

Ukraine has set a record for the daily number of coronavirus inoculations, according to the health ministry, despite the fact that the incidence of new COVID-19 (coronavirus) illnesses has decreased.

On Wednesday, 76,538 Ukrainians were vaccinated, according to the ministry. This is up from the previous high of 73,376 shots set on April 29.

According to the government, the country will get roughly 40 million doses of vaccinations from various manufacturers, and 1,594,083 people have already had their first shot as of June 16.

COVID-19 lockdown measures were extended until August 31 by the government on Wednesday, though some restrictions were lifted.

Ukraine, which has a population of 41 million, has been among the most-affected European countries, with around 2.23 million COVID-19 cases and 51,902 deaths as of June 17.
