Britain’s Justice Secretary, Dominic Raab, said Northern Ireland’s political stability was jeopardized unless concerns with the protocol governing post-Brexit commerce between Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom were resolved.

Sinn Fein, the Irish nationalist party, gained the most seats in the Northern Ireland Assembly election on Thursday.

The DUP’s popularity was eroded in part as a result of its position in post-Brexit discussions between London and Brussels, which resulted in trade barriers between Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom.
