Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, announced 25 million euros in extra aid for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, increasing the total humanitarian aid provided by the EU to 100 million euros.
In her statement to European ambassadors, von der Leyen brought up the efforts to create a naval route from Cyprus that would enable regular delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
