World’s biggest Swiss flag unfurled on Alpine cliff

Atop Sunday, workmen unfurled the world’s largest Swiss flag on an Alpine cliff to commemorate the country’s national day on August 1.

According to the Heimgartner flag firm, the 6,400-square-metre (68,890-square-foot) banner with the white cross on a red field weighs roughly 700 kg (1,540 lb) and required 600 hours to manufacture.
