Zelenskiy denounces Russian-staged votes; says there will be good news from the front

On Tuesday, President Volodynyr Zelenskiy issued a further condemnation of Russian-staged referendums in occupied portions of Ukraine endorsing plans to join Russia, calling them a “farce” that could never be considered as real referendums.

In his nightly video message, Zelenskiy added, “This farce in the occupied areas cannot even be termed an imitation of a referendum.”

Ukraine, according to Zelenskiy, will protect its people who are still living under occupation in the four regions where elections were held – Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson – as well as sections of Kharkiv.

The president also said there would soon be good news from the front, but offered no details for the moment. “We are advancing and will liberate our land,” he said.
