US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Thursday that the US will keep a close eye on the migration problem in Belarus, after authorities evacuated the largest camps where migrants had gathered along the border with Poland.

“It is deeply reprehensible that Lukashenko and Belarus have sought to weaponize migration,” Blinken told reporters during a visit to Nigeria, adding that the US had the authority to impose more sanctions if necessary.
