The Jordanian Cabinet named Adel Sharkas, a longstanding Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) employee, as the bank’s new governor on Wednesday, following Zyad Fareez.

Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh congratulated the departing CBJ governor for his dedication and assistance in “cementing the Kingdom’s monetary stability and reforms during key economic times.”
