After pleading guilty to breaking US anti-money laundering rules, the founder of the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world, Changpeng Zhao, the former CEO of Binance, was told by a federal judge on Monday that he would not be allowed to leave the country for the time being.

Zhao will have to stay in the country until the Seattle court decides whether to let him go back to the United Arab Emirates, where he is a citizen, or to stay until his sentencing hearing in February.
