According to officials, the Japanese government will urge cryptocurrency exchanges not to process transactions involving cryptoassets subject to asset-freeze sanctions against Russia and Belarus.

The government will work together to strengthen measures against the transfer of funds using cryptoassets that would violate sanctions, according to a joint statement from the Ministry of Finance and the Financial Services Agency.
