The municipality of Bcharre denied in a statement today “the planned campaign carried out by some media channels, by trying to demonstrate that the municipality is blocking the road in front of those heading to Al-Arz area.”

The statement said: “It is important to make it clear to public opinion, that the measure to prevent unequipped buses from going to Al-Arz before 11:30 has been used by the municipality for more than 20 years, to prevent buses from slipping and to preserve public and traffic safety, and to facilitate the arrival and departure of all Citizens, without exception.

The statement concluded: “We ask all media outlets to inquire and verify any information before publishing it, in order to prevent any confusion and distortion of facts.”
