Minister of Communication and official government spokesperson, Ammar Belhimer, on Wednesday accused foreign parties of: “Using the new Hirak protest movement  as a means to wage war against Algeria.”

Belhimer  told the JournalAl-Maouid newspaper: “The Algerian state works to educate whoever becomes unconsciously involved with these incitement calls.” He pointed out that: “These outsiders resort to dishonest means, and these methods have become exposed.” Belhimer added that the national media is fulfilling its duty to the fullest.

Regarding the legislative elections scheduled for next June, Belhimer stated that all facilitations and guarantees had been provided to pave the way for the new political elite, noting that the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE) would ensure the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.

The Algerian official also confirmed the manufacturing of the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V in Algeria : “This strategic step will be launched next September.”

Belhimer touched on the effects of French nuclear explosions in the south, stressing that the colonial nuclear experiments are considered a crime against humanity, making the French state responsible for removing the radioactive waste and paying for the damages.
