Biden says won’t wait forever for Iran’s response on nuclear deal

The US will not wait indefinitely for Tehran’s reaction to a 2015 nuclear deal, US President Joe Biden said on Thursday after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid.

The US and Iran have been pursuing indirect discussions in an attempt to resurrect the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) accord, which curtailed Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for respite from economic sanctions.

“We’ve spelled out for Iran’s leadership what we’re ready to tolerate in order to re-enter the JCPOA. We are awaiting their response. I’m not sure when it will happen. But we will not be kept waiting indefinitely.”
