During Friday prayers, an explosion hit a mosque in the Spin Ghar area of Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan, injuring at least 12 people, including the local mullah, according to residents.

A resident of the area, Atal Shinwari, said the explosion happened around 1:30 p.m., when explosives apparently located in the mosque’s interior detonated. Another local shared a similar story.
