The United Kingdom’s Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency stated on Friday that it had received indications of a vessel being attacked south of Yemen’s coastal town of Nishtun.

According to the service, shots were fired at the vessel, and three boats with three or four individuals on board were also spotted.

The agency did not provide any additional information, but several vessels have been attacked in recent years off the coast of Yemen, which has been torn apart by an eight-year conflict between the Iran-aligned Houthi group and a Saudi-led military coalition supporting Yemen’s internationally recognized government.
