After Russian President Vladimir Putin put his country’s nuclear deterrent on high alert, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin warned on Monday that all sides should maintain calm and prevent further escalation.

Wang also repeated China’s position that all countries’ legitimate security concerns should be treated seriously, saying at a regular daily media conference.
