Expo 2020 Dubai to host ‘world’s longest New Year’s Eve celebration’

On New Year’s Eve, twelve international and Dubai-based DJs will give 2021 a record-breaking send-off at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The lineup features DJ Skip, Kanika Kapoor, Anyasa, and Dimitri Vegas, who will all perform on the Jubilee Stage, and is headlined by the world-famous Armin van Buuren. Then there’s DJ Tala Samman, DJ Jeff, DJ Khaled Mamdouh, and DJ Fat Sam at the Dubai Millennium amphitheater, as well as DJ Hannah Ichiko, DJ Fuzzz, and DJ Daxx in the Sports, Fitness & Wellbeing Hub.

The Expo events, billed as the world’s longest New Year’s Eve celebration, will take place at various places around the site during a 13-hour period, encompassing the time zones of all participating countries.

DJ Skip, a Delhi native famed for his performance-based performances and creative scratching style, takes the stage first on the Jubilee Stage. He enjoys being able to convey himself to the rest of the world through music and promises to get visitors moving right away.

Next up is Bollywood playback singer Kanika Kapoor, who will perform singles like Baby Doll and Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan, followed by Indian producer Anyasa, who will bring his famed live performance to Dubai, and Belgian DJ Dimitri Vegas.

Finally, the king of trance, Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren, will channel the Jubilee Stage’s late night/early morning enthusiasm, finishing proceedings from 1.30am to 4am with his characteristic combination of uplifting, progressive, and psychedelic trance, with electro house and dance-pop tossed in for good measure.

Meanwhile, DJ Tala Samman will get the party started at Dubai Millennium Amphitheater with a mash-up of melodic and deep house, as well as energetic pop and hip-hop.

Excited to be playing on such a large stage, the Dubai-based DJ believes Expo 2020 is the ideal venue for “highlighting the talent we have in this city.”

DJ Jeff, who is originally from India but now resides in Dubai, will take over the reigns with a mix of hip-hop and South Asian music. “There’s no better feeling than performing at the largest event in the world!” remarked the producer, who praised Expo 2020 for enabling possibilities to cooperate with musicians from all over the world.

Deep-house DJ Khaled Mamdouh will count down to midnight at Dubai Millennium amphitheater, while DJ Fat Sam will ring in the New Year with a boom.

Disk-spinners DJ Hannah Ichiko, DJ Fuzzz, and DJ Daxx will also be welcoming guests to join the countdown festivities at the Sports, Fitness & Wellbeing Hub, with cheerful tracks that set a good tone for 2022.

All New Year’s Eve DJ sets are free for Expo 2020 ticket holders, however guests are encouraged to arrive early.
