The Elysee Palace announced today that French President Emmanuel Macron will head earlier than planned to Cairo to attend the United Nations Climate Conference (COP27) in Egypt, after the start of the single sailing race across the Atlantic Ocean was postponed due to weather conditions, as reported by Agence France-Presse.

The French Presidency explained that “in light of the cancellation of the start of the race (Rohm Road) this weekend, the President will participate in COP27 on Sunday, after he was scheduled to travel on Monday.”
