As the omicron strain spreads across Poland, Poland’s Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak announced that he had tested positive for coronavirus.

“I feel OK, and I will carry out my responsibilities in solitude,” Blaszczak stated.

On Wednesday, Poland recorded a record 53,420 new COVID-19 infections per day.
