According to Russia’s defense ministry, Russian forces attacked a munitions stockpile near the central Ukrainian city of Uman that had US-made HIMARS missiles and M777 howitzers.
The combat reports could not be verified by Reuters.
The ministry stated in its daily briefing that the attack destroyed more than 300 missiles.
The delivery of the sophisticated, long-range HIMARS from the US has been heralded as a potential gamechanger in Kiev, while Moscow has accused the West of “dragging out” the conflict by equipping Ukraine.
