Nathan Maung, a U.S. citizen, has been released from custody in Myanmar and is scheduled to leave the country on Tuesday, according to his lawyer Tin Zar Oo.

Tin Zar Oo announced on Monday that a judge dropped the case against the editor of Kamayut Media after the plaintiff abandoned the action.

The United States had raised alarm over the military authorities’ imprisonment of Nathan Maung and another American citizen, Daniel Fenster, in the Southeast Asian country.
